A word from the Head of School

“A bilingual education that is demanding yet caring, with every pupil at the centre of their own learning.”

Dear parents,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Lycée Français Bilingue International – Malte, which opened its doors in September 2025. We are delighted to bring a new educational offer to this beautiful country, and to shape citizens who will be ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Our teaching is centred on the pupil and encourages intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and creativity. Our pupils gain skills and knowledge connected to both the local and the global context, preparing them to become citizens of the world who are honest, responsible and fulfilled.

Guiding every pupil towards bilingualism is a source of pride and an honour, and I have made it my mission, combining the best of the French model with the best of other education systems: the quality, ambition and effectiveness of our programme and method lead our pupils not only to learn new languages, but to learn through those languages.

We are fortunate not to face this challenge alone: we are part of the network of the Association Franco-Libanaise pour l’Éducation et la Culture (AFLEC) and work closely with the Lycée Français Bilingue International ICE in Dubai. This school, which worked with the Jeannine Manuel schools to create a unique and ambitious educational project, shares its expertise with us.

With bilingualism guaranteed by our programme, and the language and culture of our host country taught to all, we shape enlightened citizens ready to contribute to 21st-century societies. We are committed to nurturing their thirst for knowledge and their taste for experimenting, so that they gain the knowledge and skills they will need throughout their lives. Our pupils will also learn to think critically, to work with classmates from every background, and to understand and use digital tools, ready to master tomorrow’s innovations.

None of this can happen without a welcoming and caring environment: every member of our community – pupils, families and teachers – is listened to and respected. Social and emotional learning is an integral part of our programme, and our commitments to well-being at school help everyone feel confident and safe.
